Yet another successful Come and Try It Day was held by the East Kent Masonic Clay Shooting Club on the 7th October 2017. This was their sixth year of running this event and was one of the most successful yet. Forty-nine Freemasons, their families and friends took up the invitation and fourteen club members were on hand to offer help and advice. It took place at Dartford Clay Shooting Club where the ground management offered the training facility for the day.
Those trying the sport for the first time appeared to have a great deal of fun and enjoyment. Some very good scores were recorded on the complimentary scorecards that the participants were able to take away with them. The targets were trying, yet breakable – to hit just one 150mm clay disc travelling at sixty mph is a success all on its own.
While it is a Masonic club, it welcomes new members including non-Masons, ladies and juniors as all competitions have categories for them all.
So, if you or your family would like to try the sport, please get in touch as the club would be very pleased to see you.
