The Freemasons' float at the Hythe Venetian Fete

The Freemasons’ float at the Hythe Venetian Fete

Freemasons from Hythe, Ashford, Sandgate and Folkestone took part in this year’s Hythe Venetian Fete. The fete was the culmination of several months work during which they organised the construction of a suitable kayak.

As part of Freemasonry’s 300th anniversary celebrations, this float was one of many representing local charities, schools and other societies. The floats form a procession along Hythe’s Military Canal, one parade is held in the afternoon and another with illuminations in the evening.
